WELCOME TO THE TURNING POINT
The Circular Economy presents a significant economic ($26B/year) opportunity for Australia. Open Cities is helping transition our economy to a circular one embracing sharing and reuse businesses, solutions and services like recycled water and waste, shared mobility and data, local renewable energy.
MULTI UTILITIES PRECINCTS
Multi-utility precinct approaches are creating resilient communities and sustainable outcomes. Precinct utility and mobility services allow people a financial stake in their city infrastructure that can benefit them directly.
The rise of prosumers (consumer and producer) is enabling people to produce renewable energy and sell it, reuse water and waste, share their mobility and data, putting sustained downward pressure on utility bills.
Open Cities is a national peak association representing infrastructure and service providers, cities, research organisations and urban design advocates working to transition Australian communities to a more sustainable, resilient and affordable energy, water, digital and mobility future.
We are working with government and industry to modernise and rethink policy, legislation, regulation and price settings to enable next generation local utility and mobility services and solutions.
Open Cities members come from the data, energy, mobility, waste, water and telco industries, smart city designers and advocates, governments and peak associations. Members can participate in our campaigns, initiatives and events and contribute to the future direction and growth of Open Cities.
